A second amendment to the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan was released on May 31, 2018 – download the updated regional plan from the Land Use Secretariat.
The South Saskatchewan Regional Plan was originally released in 2014 and was first amended in 2017. It was amended for the second time in 2018 with the following changes:
- Facilitate the implementation of the Porcupine Hills – Livingstone Land Footprint Management Plan
- Update Ministry name references and fix clerical/grammatical errors
With the creation of the Castle Provincial and Wildland parks in 2017, the need arose for improved management of public lands surrounding the Castle parks. The Porcupine Hills – Livingstone Land Footprint Management Plan was established and will be a sub-regional plan under the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan. The 2018 amendments to the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan facilitate the implementation of the Porcupine Hills – Livingstone Land Footprint Management Plan.
