South Saskatchewan Regional Plan

About the South Saskatchewn Regional Plan

The South Saskatchewan Regional Plan came into effect in 2014 and it was amended in 2018. It outlines the 10-year vision for the region, including a strategic plan, implementation plan and regulatory details.

Stretching from the Rocky Mountains to Saskatchewan, the South Saskatchewn region covers the southern portion of the province and includes 5 cities: Calgary, Airdrie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Brooks. The region covers around 13% of the province (83,764 square kilometres).
