Lethbridge County completed a survey to understand what locations would be most suitable for future solar developments. The survey to citizens was published in the report, Lethbridge County Solar Facilities Survey.
The survey went out to Lethbridge Country residents during the summer of 2019, and the results will be used to inform decisions regarding future solar facilities and amendments to the country’s municipal develop plan and land use bylaw.
The questions in the survey review the preferred locations for solar facilities and proposed caps for land devoted to solar.
The final question asked: “Do you believe that solar farms will increase the economic diversity for Lethbridge County?” And 2/3 of respondents answered with no.
