The Fish Sustainability Index is a province-wide assessment of the fish stocks for major species. The index takes into account 17 metrics from surveys, local and traditional knowledge, scientific literature and expert opinion to determine the population integrity, productive potential of the habitat and potential threats.
The index is visualized through species maps for 10 species (with more species expected to be added in the future).
All assessments can be viewed in the Fish and Wildlife Information Management System.
