Alberta Agriculture and Forestry

Alberta has over 130 approved farmers’ markets. The market value of Alberta’s farmers’ market exceeded $900 million in 2016. Farmers’ markets are visited by local consumers and are important agri-tourism spots.

The approved farmers’ market map shows the locations and amenities of every approved farmers’ market in Alberta.

Farmers’ markets need to meet the following requirements in order to be approved:

  • Not-for-profit status or sponsored by a non-for-profit group or municipality
  • Board of directors
  • Most vendors must grow/make the products; used goods or flea market products is not allowed
  • Be open a minimum of 10 days per year
  • Follow a set of rules and host a vendor meeting at least once per year

The map can also be viewed on a mobile device with their iOS or Android mobile app.
