There are over 2,300 coal mines in Alberta. View the locations of the mines including their geographic extent for coal, shale and base metal projects. The Alberta Coal Mine Atlas was started in 1985 and now is an interactive map that also displays the municipalities, hydrography and transportation links in the province.

The data can also be downloaded to display the location, mining company, mine type, depth and production.
